Staying angry is not healthy. It won’t help you or anyone around you live longer. Anger raises cortisol, adrenaline, epinephrine and insulin –which hardens arteries and hurts our cardiovascular & heart health. Anger wrinkles our faces. When I’m not feeling angry–or the minute I realize I am–I try to imagine the distorted contortions my face makes when I am angry. It’s not pretty– it’s pretty ugly.
Smiling and laughter trigger polar opposites. Those stress hormones are reduced. Antibody producing cells that raise effectiveness of T-cells, leads to a stronger immune system and greater health. Wrinkles-wise? If we’re lucky to live long enough, we get wrinkles. And you know what? Those wrinkles around the eyes and upper cheeks are the best exterior indications of internal beauty.
