DIAN GRIESEL, Ph.D., Founder & President

Dian Griesel, Ph.D. is a perception analyst, executive advisor, and media entrepreneur with more than three decades of experience advising select individuals as well as C-suite leaders and their teams across highly regulated, often capital-intensive industries and the public markets.
She is the founder of Perception Dynamics, a counseling and strategic training communications firm focused on the role of perception in decision-making, leadership behavior, risk management, and stakeholder influence. Her work treats perception not as a soft skill, but as an operating system that materially affects outcomes, valuation narratives, and executive performance under pressure.
Earlier in her career, Griesel built and led The Investor Relations Group, a global investor relations and public relations firm, advising more than 400 public and private companies, attending over 10,000 investor meetings and generating approximately $150 million in revenue prior to its sale to a publicly traded investment bank. Her advisory work placed her at the intersection of capital markets, corporate strategy, regulatory environments, and reputation risk, with direct exposure to SEC, FDA, FTC, and DoD-regulated contexts.
Griesel’s current advisory practice draws on this foundation, combining capital-markets fluency with applied behavioral psychology. As someone with limited hearing, Dian has become acutely skilled at tuning in to all sensory input, body language and unspoken messages to almost intuitively interpret conversations (though she’ll tell you intuition is a skill best enhanced with practical learning.) She works with executives and founders navigating personal and also professional inflection points — capital raises, leadership transitions, reputational risk, governance challenges, and high-stakes negotiations: Situations where perception, judgment, timing and communication of the message hold material influence.
She is also the founder/host of the Silver Disobedience® Perception Dynamics™ podcast which airs in 125 countries on every major podcast channel plus YouTube. It is in the Top 8% of all podcasts based on downloads, according to Spotify, and more relevant it holds listener attention as confirmed by ranking in the top 1% of engagement rates! (2025 Spotify Wrap Up) Dian has authored 15 books including Mastering the Rules of the Game: The Merger of Leadership, Perception and Purpose. Her broader body of work explores health, personal growth, business communications, media relations, investor relations, and the psychological mechanics behind influence and trust.
Griesel is known for her candid and analytically rigorous advisory style. Dian is frequently engaged where discretion, judgment, and long-term perspective matter more than performative leadership or tactical fixes.
In the spirit of full-disclosure, Dian is on the direct board with Wilhelmina New York.
