About

DIAN GRIESEL, Founder & President

A smiling woman with long, wavy gray hair rests her chin on her hand while wearing a black shirt, set against a dark background.

Dian Griesel, is a perception analyst, professional confidant, author and podcaster. All of her work merges via a single focus: How perception shapes decisions, relationships, communication, reputation, negotiations, and outcomes in high-stakes personal and professional situations.

She is the Founder and President of Perception Dynamics Inc., where she provides confidential advisory services to individuals, executives, entrepreneurs, boards, and organizations navigating complex decisions, conflicts, opportunities, crises, and perception gaps. Her role is often that of a private sounding board — helping clients examine assumptions, nonverbal cues, messaging, history, emotions, motivations, and power dynamics so they can gain greater clarity and make better judgments without being told what they should do.

Dian’s advisory work is offered as one-on-one consultations; hourly and retainer engagements; asynchronous support (communications via text and/or email); meeting observation or participation with post-session analysis; and, thought-leadership and positioning counsel. Engagements are highly confidential, with NDAs standard and clergy-penitent privilege noted where applicable.

Background and Career

Dian’s career spans nearly four decades across business, capital markets, public relations, publishing, human behavior, media, and personal development.

Her counseling career began with a private practice, working with individuals, many confronting serious illness and death, referred through a medical group within Lenox Hill Hospital.

She was recruited by a bio/health/pharma venture capital firm that had seen her work in the media. Subsequent to this, she founded The Investor Relations Group, a global investor relations and public relations firm that she led for approximately 18 years before selling it. During that time, she advised more than 400 public and private companies and participated in more than 10,000 investor- and media-facing meetings.

Her work included strategic communications involving the SEC, FINRA, FDA, FTC, Department of Defense, and other regulatory bodies, as well as financings, shareholder activism, litigation, boardroom disputes, public crises, and reputation management. Dian has been cleared by both the NYSE and NASDAQ for public-company board service and she holds certification from Wharton’s Executive School for Corporate Governance.

Dian is a member of the American Counseling Association and a lifetime member of the International Association of Counselors & Therapists, verified by Psychology Today.

Author, Podcaster and Media Presence

Dian has also written and self-published 16 books spanning communication, investor relations, fundraising, business, leadership, health, and personal development. Some of her work has been used in university graduate programs, including the Harvard MD/MBA program. Her titles include Mastering the Rules of the Game, The Silver Disobedience Playbook, and books in the TurboCharged series.

She is the host of the Silver Disobedience® Perception Dynamics™ Podcast, where she interviews entrepreneurs, executives, researchers, authors, physicians, creatives, and others across a wide range of disciplines. The podcast currently averages 220,000+ listening hours per month; is in the top 1% of podcasts for engagement rate; and, has a 98.6% USA audience.

Dian’s related @SilverDisobedience platform (links below) began as a long-form social media blog and developed into a broader media presence focused on perception, human behavior, personal development, and the observations that come from paying close attention to people.

In her mid-50s, Griesel was scouted by Wilhelmina Models after her @SilverDisobedience personality was namely featured in two international campaign collaborations with Lancôme, a L’Oréal company. Today she selectively collaborates with brands and she also pursues photography as a personal interest.

Across all of these roles, one theme has remained constant: Dian holds a deep curiosity about people — what they see, what they believe, what they miss, what they want, what they fear, and why they do what they do.

Today, Griesel brings that accumulated experience to her private advisory work, helping her clients confidentially explore and better understand the role perception plays when decisions carry consequence and clarity matters most.
