Process: The Foundation of Actualization

Welcome to my website. I'm Dian Griesel aka @SilverDisobedience.
I believe that a satisfying life is built on the foundation of a few basics. It gets down to figuring out what you're good at; owning these skills as your unique gifts; but then developing those God-given talents to your utmost ability; ceasing comparisons between yourself and others; and, bringing your one-of-a-kind self to the mix of everything you do. I further believe that by lavishing ourselves with all this "self"-ish attention, we actually improve the human condition for others because we are learning to be more patient, kinder and gentler with not only ourselves but others, as well. Why? Because by accepting that the responsibility is individually ours -- to understand ourselves, our interests, our assets and strengths -- we become less focused on what we might be thinking is wrong with others. Instead we understand that maybe they're working on being their best selves too, even when it's not necessarily apparent or obvious!
My satisfaction and success stem from ultimately honing in on my ability to listen, interpret, verbalize, visualize and relay with words a superior, succinct message for myself and others. This has helped me to develop better relationships in every area of my life. These skills resulted from a continual study of process, philosophy, science, religion, trends and human emotion along with how they relate to messages whether heard, seen or felt -- consciously or unconsciously. This self-discovery work has served me well, though it was never a straight-path: It began the day I consciously decided to step out of the trance I was living that allowed me to blame others for whatever I felt was wrong or missing in my life. Today I can say, the work was worth it. For 30 years and counting, I’ve been wealthily employed because I do understand motivation -- mine and largely that of others -- and I can help significantly improve the responses desired for my clients -- whether companies and/or individuals -- who are seeking better engagement with others.
The systems, actions, people and steps intertwined in mobilizing forces, along with the inevitable emotional catalysts that lead to the actualization or materialization of anything – fire up my brain. Although the end accomplishment or product is often what becomes the “known” -- it is the steps to that finish line that have always captured my awe and attention.
The subtext hidden in the “behind the scene” body language captured in images taken when no one is posing; the frown or subtle smile during a moment of thought; the “blush” on a face during a moment of recollection; posture; the ways eyes move or start to glisten with tears as a story is being relayed; and, the hands as they move over the face, hips or hair. Each adds more color and depth to the words said in any conversation. Delving further into the “who, what, when, where, why and how,” along with the emotions tied to situations or decisions, I gain vital information so I am able to suggest new pathways that result in positive changes. I do this every waking hour. It's at the essence of who I am and it compels me to write when I'm not advising a client or otherwise creating.
Questioning is how I begin everything. Listening and actively observing I gather thoughts, phrases and body language. I input all of the information that I receive into my rapidly-processing internal computer that is constantly running a variety of programs that have been developed via a lifetime of daily self-education and ownership of my innate intuition that has been greatly enhanced through years of meditation. I process an assessment and ask for permission to offer it back as advice, improved messaging, a solution or a productive course of action. Years of this progressive observational approach to assessing a myriad of verbal and physical actions combine in force. They make me who I am and reflect my business success today and help explained why I started my daily Silver Disobedience® blog. Basically, it's not easy living in my head! ;-)
On this website, I elaborate more on my philosophy, my companies, my work and how I see life, my role in it and balance. Feel free to read...or not!
Peace,
Dian Griesel
