I’m a blusher. I always was. And I tend to blush even more when someone mentions that I blushed. Yet, the funny thing, to this day, if I was stranded on a desert island and could only bring one makeup item…you know what I’d bring? Blush! In fact, I remember my first really big name makeup modeling job vividly. The makeup artist took one look at me and with a smile said: You like blush. Don’t see that so much these days.
With age, my blushing no longer bothered me. I once read that”The best blush to use is laughter because it puts roses on your cheeks.”
I like when I see others blush. Whether from laughter or a subtle self-awareness it adds a natural radiance. A glowing inner joy shines outwardly and natural beauty is enhanced. Laughter and blushing transcends barriers of culture, language & background. Regardless of who we are or where we come from, the sound of laughter along with a healthy blush are universally understood and appreciated. If I was going to guess, I might say blushing and the laughter that may accompany it may also have health benefits. There’s some good research confirming that a healthy blush coupled with laughter reduces stress, boosts the immune system and can even lower blood pressure. So, the more laughter in our lives, which might be joined with blushing, the healthier and happier we become.
When I see someone blush I feel almost an instant bond. It’s a shared moment that creates lasting connections and strengthens relationships. When we laugh or dare I say blush together, we’re sharing moments of intimacy and joy while maybe also creating memories that bind us.
Ultimately, the best blush being laughter speaks to the idea that true beauty radiates from within. It’s not about external appearances or superficial adornments; it’s about the warmth, kindness, comfort and joy that emanate from a person’s soul. In a world where we’re often bombarded with messages about achieving physical perfection, the notion that laughter is the best blush refreshingly reminds us to cherish the moments that bring that blush and maybe more intimate laughter into our lives.
