A couple of years ago my daughter who entered her teen years listening to music on an iPhone asked for a record player. She didn’t think I knew what it was, and explained that we’d have to buy vinyls to go with it. For many of us vinyl still smells better than a download. Growing up with record players and albums, most of us in our Silver Disobedience years are still largely willing to pay for our music choices instead of pirating them. We respect the work of musicians and how they have impacted our lives. We like music that take us back in time, triggering memories…and we enjoy current day artists as well. Did you know our age group makes up almost one quarter of online music sales…and we still love live music, as well? After all — Who else but us is paying those outrageous ticket scalper prices for the last Rolling Stones, U2, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney and Grateful Dead tours…or Bruce Springsteen on Broadway?
Life spins us round, round baby round round like a record baby round round, round round…And…as Eminem said, “I am who I am and I say what I think. I’m not putting a face on for the record.” What music gets you pumped up? Tell me about your favorite albums and concerts!

https://youtu.be/6inwzOooXRU…… close to you…. sure there is Charles Aznavour, Miki Theodorakis, Harris Alexiou, Carla Bruni, Paulo Conti (https://youtu.be/0o_rGhcBgME), Carlo Gardel, all of them and more i love to sing along to…but only one sweet Karen Carpenter….good morning all!
You bring back a major memory of mine! I didn’t love The Carpenter’s at the time…but wow, when any song from Karen or Richard comes on the radio today…I can’t turn it off, while I very badly try to sing with it!
I remember Winterland and the Filmore West on occasion. Was so much fun. Since seeing the Beatles at age 11, I have not stopped going to concerts either. Music is a sense of staying informed. So many of so different lifestyles are in the same arena loving the music all at once. It’s a glorious thing to be a part of. At my age now (63) I have no plans on stopping. The last concerts I saw was Aerosmith and U2. BTW, I still have my records and a record player and my cassette player too. There is a sound that cannot be copied when laying on the floor surrounded by records and one speaker. Ahhhh………
