Our “feelings” of happiness are in constant flux. We are all completely unique in “what makes us feel happy.” What makes us feel happy today will not necessarily have the same effect tomorrow. This goes for people, places and things. Our individual state of happiness requires introspection while doing and moving forward with actions. “Things” beyond a roof, food and clothing are only really “accessories” in life. I’m not saying things aren’t fun and enjoyable, I like accessories of all kinds. But if we look at these things any other way, they tend to complicate and stress our lives. Our worlds are overloaded with “stuff” that is constantly vying for our attention, time and money. This time of year, stuff really becomes a focus. It doesn’t always elevate our sense of happiness.
