Acceptance is said to be the opposite of judgement. It’s easy to understand this concept if you envision being gifted a compliment. How often when we’re complimented do we deflect or disregard the comment; brush it off or basically do anything other than say, “Thank you” and accept it. ✨
At every age, the reason we struggle with accepting a compliment is because we have slipped into judging the words in our heads while questioning (or doubting) the other being who has complimented us. ✨
Acceptance of a compliment, acceptance of anything for what it is, as well as accepting anyone for who they are, are acts of grace.✨
Next time you’re complimented, tell those voices inside your head that it’s time to be quiet down. ✨
Listen and say, “Thank you.” To do otherwise is really a subtle insult to another. Accept compliments with grace.✨
