What is Perception?

Perception is the deeply personal merging of what we absorb, moment to moment, through sight, sound, taste, scent, and touch with our conscious and unconscious thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and past experiences.

Together, these form a kind of personal operating system that continuously interprets what’s happening in our conversations and surroundings, shaping how we feel and respond.

Much of that response is automatic. And because perception isn’t always the same as reality, our automatic reactions don’t always serve our best interests, or anyone else’s.

Sometimes, it’s really nice to have a completely confidential place to think through how to best process something personal, professional, complicated, or consequential.

For over three decades, I have served as a private thought-partner helping individuals and business leaders navigate multiple sides of perception: Seeing oneself, others, conversations and situations more clearly from the inside, and shaping how they are understood by others from the outside.

Confidential, one-on-one access to me for the decisions, conversations and situations you want to think through with someone outside your immediate world. We can talk about a business decision, relationship, negotiation, career issue, difficult conversation, opportunity, conflict — or something you simply haven’t felt comfortable discussing with anyone else. You don’t need to prepare anything. You don’t need to know exactly what you’re asking. Start wherever you want.

I’ll listen, ask questions; tell you what I’m hearing; point out what you may not be seeing; and, help you consider how the situation may look from perspectives other than your own. Book in fluid 15 to 90-minute blocks; schedule ahead, or connect instantly when I’m live. No rigid programs or commitments required.

Retainer Strategy & Positioning

For leaders, public figures, and organizations requiring ongoing, on-standby counsel, a limited number of customized monthly retainers are available. This tier bypasses transactional booking entirely, securing high-priority access.

Depending on your institutional or personal objectives, a retainer engagement is completely tailored. It may include all of the above, and:
