Elise Harney sold me a mansion almost 30 years ago. Many reading this will remember it because I there some great parties there. It was built in 1917 by the founder of Buster Brown shoes and had been owned by Alice Cooper and I believe also his manager. When we moved in, we found all kinds of Alice memorabilia in the basement, including an official plaque granting him Sheriff status from some city in Texas. The mansion reflected one part of a compilation of what I dreamed of accomplishing. From living in a shoebox in New York, where I could touch the kitchen sink and toilet at the same time — I had decided to prioritize personal home space. As such I had collages of pictures of mansions on my walls for years – including one my mother sent me where she wrote on the back, “Dian, I know one day you’ll live in a place just like this “ And ultimately I did. We didn’t live in it for long because the price of mansions comes with the price of fuel, lawn maintenance and everything else that was way beyond my budget. But the purpose of this story is this: I’m currently envisioning another huge adventure that’s going to take me way beyond my comfort zone but I think I’m ready. You’re going to see a whole new side of me. And with this — I’m envisioning everything I might want from the success of this project. Some of the things are material and some are karma insurance. Why this picture of a Tea bag is the placeholder for this post is because Harney Teas was just starting out all those years ago when I bought that mansion. They had a small Inn, and decided to expand their hosting brand with teas — which they did so quite impressively. Today Harney & Sons Teas is one of the finest specialty tea companies offered in luxurious settings worldwide. So this post is for the dreamers. Whatever you dream of, I’ll be creating and materializing my dreams right alongside you, and of course, I’ll be encouraging you to do the same. While it’s a long way to the top, there’s plenty of room for anybody seeking to challenge their potential.
