At every stage of life, an optimistic outlook toward our challenges, adversities, losses and setbacks is not just beneficial; it’s transformative. If we can look at everything that happens as a necessary lesson—whether we like it or not—our mental and physical health will not just benefit, it will thrive. Even the most unanticipated and unpleasant situations can be seen as a chance to learn about what we want to improve upon going forward, healing physically, mentally or spiritually. By harnessing our optimistic powers and seeing life as a series of lessons, we can turn our disappointments into new opportunities to build our resiliency.
Every setback, be it a career loss, relationship pain, or health setback, carries the seeds of transformation within it. These experiences can open our eyes to new work directions, improve our relationships, and make us prioritize self-care.
