Choose Your Adventure!

At any point you can make your day better by making a choice to do something different. Here’s a list of “some things” to do if you need some ideas! Call a friend on the phone — don’t text to ask to call—just call. Lift some weights. Stretch your body. Go outside and watch the clouds. Take a walk, bike ride or go for a swim. Get a massage. Get out of your house, even if you just sit on your front steps. Take a drive in your car or get on a public bus just for a trip. Take a nap. Eat a piece of dark chocolate. Cook a favorite meal. Try a recipe you’ve never tried before. Take a walk with a dog. Go to a park and watch the birds. Go to an afternoon movie matinee. Pull out a deck of cards and play solitaire. Go to a high school sporting event even if you don’t know any of the players. Sell something you don’t want on an Internet site or donate it to a local thrift shop. Do a puzzle with lots pieces. Get a haircut. Go to the library and pick out a book. Stop into a favorite cafe for a cup of tea. Go to church, synagogue, temple or wherever you might like to worship and sit in peace. Call someone you haven’t talked to in ages. Sing out loud. Write a letter to God. Learn a new word and try to use it 5 times during the day. Listen to a favorite song and dance. Practice saying a favorite line from a favorite movie as if you were the actor. Take pictures of whatever you find interesting that catches your eye. Plant or weed something, anywhere you can. Paint your nails. Take a bubble bath or steamy shower. Work on your car, truck or bike. Sign up for a class at a local college, educational outlet or online that excites you. Read a gossipy celebrity magazine. List all of your wonderful traits and don’t stop until you reach at least 10. Draw a picture or paint one. Light some candles. Recall the funniest, craziest, sexiest, wildest thing you’ve ever done if it makes you smile. Call someone who has made your life better or send them a letter.
