A direct conversation. That’s it.
Because sometimes you just need someone you can tell everything.
Perception is the deeply personal merging of what we absorb, moment to moment, through sight, sound, taste, scent, and touch with our conscious and unconscious thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and past experiences.
Together, these form a kind of personal operating system that continuously interprets what’s happening in our conversations and surroundings, shaping how we feel and respond.
Much of that response is automatic. And because perception isn’t always the same as reality, our automatic reactions don’t always serve our best interests, or anyone else’s.
Sometimes, it’s really nice to have a completely confidential place to think through how to best process something personal, professional, complicated, or consequential.
Sometimes, you know exactly what you need to do and how you’re going to do it — but you may be concerned about the people, markets, media, or audiences on the receiving end of the message.
And sometimes, because of a situation or circumstances, you need help with both private counsel and public positioning.
For over three decades, I have served as a private thought-partner helping individuals and business leaders navigate multiple sides of perception: Seeing oneself, others, conversations and situations more clearly from the inside, and shaping how they are understood by others from the outside.
Private Counsel: A strictly confidential conversation about yourself; a personal or professional relationship dynamic; critical decisions; high-stakes negotiations; internal conflicts; or, a vulnerability you simply haven’t yet been able to voice out loud.
Public Positioning: Strengthening how you interface with the market. Clarifying your message. Developing a commanding thought-leadership voice. And, if desired, creating media opportunities to help you become recognized for the expertise, ideas and perspective that distinguish you.
Consultations.
Confidential, one-on-one access to me for the decisions, conversations and situations you want to think through with someone outside your immediate world. We can talk about a business decision, relationship, negotiation, career issue, difficult conversation, opportunity, conflict — or something you simply haven’t felt comfortable discussing with anyone else. You don’t need to prepare anything. You don’t need to know exactly what you’re asking. Start wherever you want.
I’ll listen, ask questions; tell you what I’m hearing; point out what you may not be seeing; and, help you consider how the situation may look from perspectives other than your own. Book in fluid 15 to 90-minute blocks; schedule ahead, or connect instantly when I’m live. No rigid programs or commitments required.
Retainer Strategy & Positioning
For leaders, public figures, and organizations requiring ongoing, on-standby counsel, a limited number of customized monthly retainers are available. This tier bypasses transactional booking entirely, securing high-priority access.
Depending on your institutional or personal objectives, a retainer engagement is completely tailored. It may include all of the above, and:
To preserve exceptional responsiveness, strict confidentiality, and the deep cognitive immersion my active clients require, I intentionally maintain a highly restricted retainer roster.
Written / Voice Advisory.
Not every issue requires a formal meeting. Securely text me the details of a situation, a critical email draft, a question, a public statement — or whatever you would like me to review when a live conversation isn’t necessary. I’ll assess the issue, message, context and underlying dynamics, then respond privately by written message or voice note.
Dian Direct™ Instant Sounding Board.
When my profile shows “Available Live,” you can initiate an immediate private call when you want another perspective before stepping into an important conversation, meeting, negotiation or decision.
