My Secret for Shiny Silver or White Hair

Because you asked… Yes, this is my natural hair color. And…Here is my secret #DIY recipe that I use to keep my hair Silvery White and shiny. I do this every two to three weeks. It rinses away the copper, sulfur and other chemicals that are naturally in water (and old pipes) — which ultimately contribute to that yellowish buildup that I really dislike.

  1. In a small jar, mix equal parts of 3% hydrogen peroxide, water and your favorite white-colored conditioner. (Or 1/3 hydrogen peroxide (3%), 1/3 water, and 1/3 conditioner)
  2. Stir or shake up the mixture to blend thoroughly.
  3. Apply the mixture to your clean, damp, non-conditioned hair.
  4. Comb through the hair with a wide-toothed comb or pick. Leave on hair for 10 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
  5. Repeat once every three weeks to prevent mineral buildup.
  6. Enjoy your whiter, shiny and very conditioned hair.

Disclaimer: I take zero responsibility for your personal outcome — particularly if you don’t follow directions or mistakenly decide “more is better” and especially if you leave this mixture on your hair too long. I am not a professional hair dresser! This is just my personal formula! Remember, it does use peroxide…SO if your hair is darker or a little salt with a lot of pepper — I probably would not recommend this because the peroxide could result in your darker hair looking a like brassy orange hair. Also — I comb this away from my scalp and down the strands — as I don’t want to stress my scalp.
